"Although many people find this place corny I still enjoy visiting there."

Alphabet Soup - Universal City Walk

Universal City Walk was a unique idea when it opened almost fifteen years ago. Located next to the Universal Studio Amusement Park in Universal City, California it is now so large it even has its own zip code. The concept was to build a street of shops for the customers of Universal Studios to walk through from their cars to the amusement park. With the assortment of gift shops, novelty stores, restaurants and bars plus an eighteen-screen theatre and they even have a bowling alley making the walk an instant hit. Almost as many people come just to City Walk as people who come to the park.

It is the perfect place for a first date with its one stop shopping for a nice restaurant and then off to see a movie. Then after the movie the couple can take a hand held stroll down through the shops just to window shop or maybe to stop for ice cream. Universal City Walk is a must visit for tourists coming to Los Angeles, they can find unique souvenirs and a restaurant to match any taste.

I understand many will fine Universal City Walk too commercial for their tastes but I feel it is the perfect mix for a typical crowd coming to an amusement park. To have that many shops with that big of variety they need to be a commercial success to make the idea work. If you are coming to LA I would suggest stopping by for a visit just to find out what corporate America thinks Americana looks like.
