Spring Time in the Desert

Many who live in the deserts of southern California would swear there are only two seasons here. There is a season when it's hot and then a short time when it's not. Of course, this is not true, we do have four seasons it is just some years they are hard to detect. Of those who take the time to notice our slight seasonal changes I think most would agree that the short period of spring is the most enjoyable.

Spring in the desert is beautiful, the wild poppies growing on the hillsides are so vibrant, and lush they dazzle the senses. The occasional rains wash the air and give our land a fresh clean smell. This is the time of year to get out and enjoy the country side for we all know in just a matter of weeks we will be closed up inside with the air conditioners running full blast trying to survive the hell that we call desert living.
