"How much writing could he do without me?"
A Chair with Attitude
Oh, I know I'm the least appreciated, the one he seldom thinks about as he stares at that horrific screen all day. I have molded my shape around his considerable girth and the strain of holding him for hours on end has shortened my life by years. I hear him curse his computer, yell at his printer, while I silently do my job, maybe if I'd crashed once in a while he'd notice me. I wish I could tell him to turn off his screen and then just lean back in me, he needn't worry I would comfort him. He doesn't understand, that blinking cursor won't create for him, creativity needs to come from inside and I could help if he would let me. As the only one in the room who supports him you would think he would be more considerate of me and yet I can't even get him to wipe the cookie crumbs from my folds or put a drop of oil in my wheel casings. I know I can't last forever and I've already made my decision, when I go I taking him with me, that's right we'll all crash together.More writing by this author
