A Family Give Thanks

The turkey is cooked and all ready to slice
But before we all eat I think it'd be nice
To go round the table everyone has a say
Just tell us all what to give thanks for today
Mom starts out talking of family and health
Dads thankful for work but wishes for wealth
Sister swoons over John but knows not to say
So she talks of school and her new class play
Junior's thinking of football and hopes to see
The Lions beat the Packers on their new TV
Grandpa's sure glad that his gout doesn't hurt
Grandmas just glad there's no jail for Uncle Burt
I know the country's a mess and a lot live in fear
But let's all count our blessings and hope for next year
