Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by R. Wesley Lovil on October 13, 2013
"Summer's long gone and now autumn is here"
A Walk in the Dark
Summer's long gone now that autumn is hereAnd that winter is coming is abundantly clear
Our walks, once in sunlight now begin before dawn
There's shadows on our path and dew on the lawn
We start to the east, walking toward the dawn's light
We're into the time that's not day and not night
I have to take care; look for cracks I can't see
Or I'll end up falling, get another bruised knee
The dog doesn't care for he just follows his nose
He seems just to follow wherever it goes
Soon the sun is peeking over yonder mount
The sky will be filled, too many colors to count
