The following is a piece of writing submitted by R. Wesley Lovil on August 18, 2013
"OK so if it quacks like a duck it must be waterproof"
Water off a Duck's Back
Each week of this past summer we write of idioms in our loreToday is no exception and it's one known shore to shore
It is used to show something's simple and its scientific fact
What could be more natural than water off a ducky's back?
This idiom gives me a visual from the land of waterfowl
Where no one sells umbrellas or hats or even towels
You see the rain won't bother goslings, drakes, or Mrs. Duck
For water off a duck's back is a thing that doesn't suck
