"About kids going to see Santa in the toy store."
Christmas Wish
All the kids were lined up in the toy store becauseevery one of them wanted to see Santa Claus.
And they waited and waited just near the gold chair
even though Santa was not sitting there.
They wanted to ask him for things they could get
some feeling impatient he wasn’t there yet.
He’s ‘Feeding his Reindeer’ the sign duly said
but really our Santa was late out of bed.
At last he arrived, all the children were thrilled
except for young Millie whose soft drink had spilled.
It was all down her front and had made a great mess
and her shoes were all sticky as well as her dress.
Though her mother had wiped her as best as she could
there was still a big puddle just where she had stood.
Every child took a turn to sit on the red knee
but with most of them thinking of Me Me Me Me!
And from some of the parents there came a soft groan
When they heard what their children all wanted to own.
Then there came a young girl who was terribly shy
and her heartfelt request brought a tear to his eye.
‘It’s my brother,’ she whispered, ‘he’s only just four
and he’s been sick so long he can’t play any more.’
And now Santa was taken aback ’cos he knew
this was something that he was not able to do.
But he smiled at the lass as he said with great feeling,
‘What you really need here is a miracle healing.
And I can’t bring you that when I come in my sleigh,
but I promise I’ll remember the boy when I pray.’
