Can we do this? Create an assignment that uses the daily puzzles?

We chose not to make that an option, because it won't add any value to the assignment, and will potentially make things more confusing.
Teachers generally create assignments along the lines of "do this game until you can get a score of X" or "in fewer than Y clicks," or "in less than Z seconds." The expectation is that each time they try, they get a different puzzle.
However, if you assign a daily, the student gets exactly the same puzzle each time they try, so if they don't get it the first time, well, the second time they already know the answer, so it becomes a pointless exercise.
